Why we’re hiring
GrowthX is 40 people company with a a seven member engineering crew, with two product designer & one product manager. We’re building AI-first career tools: DreamRole for job matching, GrowthX Learning for rapid upskilling, and Membership for high-leverage networks. Complexity is rising fast—LLM workflows, match algorithms, memory graphs. We need a builder who can lead a pod, ship code daily, and grow great engineers while keeping systems clean.
What you’ll do in your first 3–6 months
- Lead a product pod of three engineers and own a vertical such as Learning, DreamRole, or Member experience.
- Design and review backend systems in Fastify, Mongo or Postgres, Redis, WebSockets.
- Turn messy problem statements into shipped features alongside design and product.
- Pair with engineers, clear blocks, and keep code quality high through sharp reviews.
- Run postmortems, set SLOs, and tighten our dashboards and on-call playbooks.
- Hire one or two more engineers and help refine our team rituals.
How the role grows after 6–12 months
- Lead all pods and help ICs level up into tech leads.
- Set cross-repo standards for testing, observability, and incident response.
- Shape our AI architecture—vector search, hybrid RAG, async agents, fine-tuned LLMs.
- Co-own the technical roadmap with founders, from infra upgrades to org design.
- Lead the hiring bar, compensation design, and growth ladders for future engineers.

Oualifications (don’t self-reject)
- Five to eight years building backend systems in quick-moving teams.
- At least one year leading engineers as tech lead or EM, ideally 2 years.
- Strong grasp of API design, data modeling, and system design.
- Shipped full products end-to-end, that are used by millions of people.
- Bonus: shipped AI features—LLMs, vector DBs, RAG stacks.
